What do I do next?
This page has some information to help you to get off to a good start. Notice the menu in the left-hand margin of this page. Click on the link that best fits you: student, employee or alumni/ae. It will provide information that will help you access Portico and e-mail.
Also on the menu at left is a link to help you reset your password if you have forgotten your password. This link is followed by one that gives access to the user manuals for Portico, Zimbra webmail, and Gmail, as well as e-mail policies that will help you learn how to use these new systems. If you have more questions, make sure you visit the last link, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ). Here you will find an FAQ list for Portico, e-mail, and Gmail.
If none of these resources get you the information you need, then e-mail for assistance at porticohelp@fuller.edu
What's new with E-mail?
Fuller’s e-mail is now web-based. The big benefit of this is that you will be able to easily access your e-mail remotely through Portico, without the usual complicated reconfigurations to your email program. In the near future, ITS will be helping employees setup their e-mail accounts to take full advantage of this remote e-mail access. For employees, it does mean that you will need to learn how to use Zimbra webmail for accessing e-mail remotely. Easy-to-use access instructions are provided in the Zimbra user manual.
Another benefit is that your e-mail username and password is the same for logging in to Portico, thus eliminating a separate username and password like you had with Campus Pipeline. Additionally, the new e-mail system will provide enterprise-level spam filtering, so if you enjoyed the hundreds of spam e-mails that daily flooded your inbox, we apologize for removing that fun. There are also some very useful tools provided in the new e-mail service, like powerful calendaring.
Do I need to do anything regarding
the changes with E-mail?
Not really. On Monday, January 28, employees just log into their e-mail program like you normally do. If you had to reset your password, then you will need to use that new one to get into your e-mail program on your computer or any other device you access your e-mail through. Your e-mail address will look the same, even for students who will now use Gmail, which can only be used through Portico.
